Contract:6 yr(s) / $72,000,000 Signing Bonus $15,000,000 Average Salary $12,000,000 End Year:2012 Free Agent:2013 / Unrestricted
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Colts are "fielding telephone calls" from teams interested in trading for DE Dwight Freeney.
The new Colts regime has heaped praise on Freeney and Robert Mathis, but this news is hardly surprising. Freeney is not only dead-set against converting to outside linebacker in Chuck Pagano's 3-4 scheme, he's also carrying a prohibitive salary cap figure of $19.035 million. While Freeney is on the wrong side of thirty, he should draw plenty of interest from contenders with 4-3 defenses
